WORKSHOP OBJECTIVES:

Understand and differentiate between what is covered under the following California (SWRCB/RWQCB and CDFW) codes and policy:

The Porter-Cologne Water Quality Control Act
State Policy for Water Quality Control: State Wetland Definition and Procedures for Discharges of Dredged or Fill Material to Waters of the State (“The Procedures”)
California Fish and Game Code §1600-1616

Become familiar with guidance and standards associated with the SWRCB/RWQCB and CDFW regulatory authorities, including an overview of the SWRCB/RWQCB’s authority under Section 401 of the federal CWA.

Identify when a project might need authorization under the regulations covered during the workshop.
